Comments are Working!!

You know what I hate about WordPress? How easy everyone says it is.

Oh, yes, it’s soooo easy. Any drooling, cross-eyed product of cousin love could whip out a multi-layered, perfectly designed, rock-solid website.

On the plus side, this drooling, cross-eyed product of cousin love figured out what was wrong with comments. It was one box checked. You know, the box that said “Let Everyone Comment.” Yeah. Apparently that made it so NO ONE could comment.

Did I mention how WordPress is just the easiest damn thing in the entire freaking world? And soooo staightforward.

Oh, I’m just kvetching because it’s been a pain to figure this thing out. Actually, it was a hell of a lot easier to do this website than my last website with Dreamweaver. That, by comparison was an anal raping of the first order. This was comparatively easier. Easy, no. Comparative, yeah.

But you don’t care about this babbling. You want to know about the podcast.

Same bat time, same bat channel, as they used to say. Whomever “they” are.

Tentatively expect it Sunday night (a few hours later than usual).

Oh yeah, and a WordPress expert would still be really helpful, just for a little time to go over the code of this site and figure out some little bugs. It will you some extra-special GameHound lovin’ and maybe even a video-game, just to say thanks.

  • look at my, I can comment!!

Edie what did you end up doing? Did you just allow anyone to comment instead of registered users?

  • Well, technically yes, but according to a bunch of people, WordPress’ internal spam filters kinda suck balls. Everyone suggests using at least two separate plug-in spam filters.

So it ends up actually being less spamful.

Now I gotta figure out why the archives keep going down. And the next/previous posts bug.

  • as long as you use Akismet you should be fine. I almost never have to delete spam with that installed.

  • Yeah. That’s one of the two recommended. Askimet and pick another. Good to know Askimet is all that and a packet of crisps.
