Yes, we expected these titles, but here’s all the details on the major release games we knew would be on their way.
- Fallout 3: New catchphrase of the day: “Peace, Freedom, Bacon and Eggs.” No release date. Looks cool. New trailer will debut in a few hours, if not already. “Substantial DLC exclusive to Xbox and Games for Windows.” First- or third-person. No release date mentioned.
- Resident Evil: First look at Sheva Alomar. Two characters separate, in fact it’s necessary to do so. Worldwide release March 13, 2009 (That’s Friday the 13th, kids!)
- Fable 2: Peter Molyneaux’s opening words: “Fable 2 is finished.” Debuted a section of opening cutscene. Co-op has potential to be amazing, as you’ll see glowing blue globes all over your major cities. Each globe represents a person on your friends list who is on and playing Fable 2. Click on the globe and that person pops into your world instantly. Game releases October 2008.
- Gears of War 2: CliffyB is really taking this grown-up thing seriously — no hair product!! Demoed co-op play as they traversed a locust sinkhole. Really amazing, as the tactics of co-op are very slick and you can do things like shoot grappling hooks off walls before the locusts get over a wall. New mode: Horde, a five-player co-op where you get “wave after wave of increasingly difficult locusts.” Releases worldwide November 7, 2008.
