Hey, it finally showed up! Episode 84 is in the can, as they say in the “biz.”
And it seems that GamerEdie Sellers and Commander Tim have a lot to say after taking a week off. They came back rested and ready to talk out the issues of the last two weeks.
As promised in the show, here’s the show notes, including a link to sign up for the upcoming Xbox Dashboard Update Preview.
… Tim’s genetically perfect eyebrows.

I didn’t like Mario 64 either. I’m not saying that it’s a bad game, I just could get used to 3D. I kept missing the platforms and thought the star collection system sucked.

I may have an answer to your confusion on the many hit or miss reviews of Brutal Legend here goes are you or have you ever been into or at least GET Heavy Metal or at the least like Tenacious D if not then you will not get this game or most of the comedy in this game hence some of the crappier reviews just my 2 cents i think the game ROCks

I’m loving it too. Now that I’m much farther in the game, I kinda can see Giant Bomb’s comment about being “a jack of all trades and master of none.” Its RTS stage battles are okay, not great. In fact, I’m not a big fan of the stage battles, and while I haven’t played multiplayer yet, the thought that it may be stage battles isn’t making me look forward to it. As for the combat portions, they’re good, not awesome. I’m finding myself enjoying those more as the game goes along. At normal difficulty, it’s pretty darned easy in general. For the most part, I’m finding the game is really propelled by a great story and effing awesome comedy, not by the game itself. So far, not my favorite Tim Schafer game, but even at his worst he’s better than just about everyone.

I think its one of those games you have to take as a whole package when you start dissecting it it falls apart a little but as a whole its pretty dam entertaining as far as the stage battles go i couldn’t stand it at first but i can say that after getting some mp practice in i actually enjoy it now trick is to get in there with your troops and hammer out solos

I can speak from experience, those eyebrows are uncannily perfect.
