It’s frustrating to play multiplayer games without the ability to communicate with your teammates. Even more frustrating is having your Bluetooth headset run out of battery juice in the middle of a firefight.
After several days of cussing that will probably deny my entrance to Heaven, I found a nice and inexpensive solution. It a wired-headset from Rocketfish.
It comes with a 15-foot USB cable that easily fits my PS3. Voice communication is clear and static free. As you’d expect, the long cable can get tangled if you are not careful, but for $20, who cares?
There is also a volume control/mute button, but I never use it.
Keep in mind that this Rocketfish wired-headset does not mix game sound with voice. It actually isolates the voice. So, if you play without the TV volume, then this is not for you. I play with my TV volume blasting that’s why having a clear and continuous voice-only headset works for me.

Having only had one PS3 which I got of a friend I dont understand why headsets are not shipped with the PS3?? I only played Killzone 2 single player then on to the multiplayer but no one had mics? or maybe they had buy no one was talking? I think sony need to start handing out free headsets with every PS3 even if there wired like the one Daaddygamer pointed out above.

Here, here… AS! Great point. You think they could just throw in a $20 headset after you’ve spent $300+games+tax. Right? Hey, Sony! Are you reading this! Most of the titles today have a multiplayer component anyway.
