28 Feb 2011Great news for…well, for me.
Hopefully for you, too!
Japanese developer Square’s role-playing games were truly in their heyday on the Playstation One, but these days they can be a little difficult to track down unless you like the idea of paying upwards of $100 without even being assured of the discs’ condition.
No longer, though! Sony has finally taken pity on us poor Americans and released two games that have been available on the Japanese PSN for years: Xenogears last Tuesday, and Vagrant Story this week.
Xenogears will cost you $9.99, and Vagrant Story can be had for even less: $5.99. Considering that a quick search on Amazon brings up prices that are , less than$20 for the pair is a real bargain.
I own a hard copy of Vagrant Story already (obtained at great personal risk to life and limb), but, as I did with Final Fantasy VII, I’ll still be downloading both of these so that there’s less of a chance I’ll wear out the discs. Now, if they’d only release Parasite Eve.

Well, rumor has it that a Parasite Eve showed up on the ESRB list to be released just in time for The 3rd Birthday. I hope it’s true and I hope the 2nd game is also coming out so I could play the series in order!!

It is indeed on the ESRB list, but there’s no date or anything attached to it. It would make sense for it to be this month, so here’s hoping.

Sony needs to get there as in gear, there is a huge market for older games on ps3 an the psn is poorly supported outside of japan. Fricken Sony do it all the time an never support the awesome things they start
