Episode 139: PAX East 2011 In My Pants

In: Podcasts by Edie Sellers

20 Mar 2011

It’s the big, fat wrap-up show of PAX East 2011. And it’s in our pants.

This week Holy Goalie, Edie Sellers, and Nick Dinicola are joined by our very own Leah Haydu, by popular demand. We talk about what we saw at PAX East last week in Boston, what went wrong, what went right, and what games were there. If you’ve ever considered going to either PAX, this is a show you don’t want to miss.

Topics include:

  • Tens of thousands of nerds descend on Boston and the city freaks out.
  • Goalie’s review of Homefront.
  • Leah’s review of Splatterhouse.
  • Nick and Edie’s review of Dragon Age 2.
  • THQ’s stock price drops after the release of Homefront.

And there was much rejoicing.

I know I wasn’t particularly glowing with praise for it, but it IS fun. Just don’t pay $60 for it… if you rent it or get it cheap, like I did, it’s totally worth the play.

I’m expecting BrĂ¼tal Legend to be the same way. Picked it up for a song, and that really helps manage expectations.

I’ve been addicted to Serious Sam. I thought this was a cartoon character game on Nintendo, but it’s an awesome retro style shooter in the vein of Wolfenstein.

I have to admit that the hammering on Homefront never got old. I actually lol’d.
