14 Jun 2011If you need your appetite whetted for the upcoming Mass Effect 3 — and we really don’t because we want it worse than a starving man wants a burger — here’s an bouche amuse for you.
Yesterday, Bioware released a new trailer for ME3, and there’s a few things we can glean from it.
Firstly, it seems our favorite Aussie merc, Zaeed Massani, is still around. Or someone who sounds distinctly like him, since the narrator has that down-under twang about him.
Second, it looks like we’ll get a new weapon — or an old tool to be used as a weapon. Your Omni Tool, formerly used for communication, hacking, repair, and the like, will now be able to work as a melee weapon. Think: If a Halo energy sword mated with an Assassin’s Creed hidden wrist blade.
Thoughts, anyone?

Just happened to come across your post whilst looking for more info on ME3.
You mentioned the trailer narrator sounded a bit like Robin Sachs/Zaeed Massani. Sachs is actually a fellow Briton, like myself.
After listening to the ME3 debut trailer and this one a couple dozen times, I’m almost 100% sure the VA is Sam Worthington, an Aussie actor. He’s been in films such as Avatar, Terminator Salvation and Clash of the Titans. He’s also done some voice over work, most notably Call of Duty: Black Ops in which he voiced the lead character, a guy named Alex Mason.
I’m trying to convince other ME fans that the trailer narrator IS S.W., but am not having much luck. Most believe the TN is one of four other actors: Sean Bean, Craig Fairbrass, Richard Armitage, or Jason Statham.
Guess we’ll find out sooner or later! Mr. Hudson did mention in a tweet a bit ago that more info, like who the VAs are, is forthcoming. Let’s hope so!
