22 Feb 2012This is an epic GameHounds episode.
Not just because it clocks in at nearly two hours. No.
It’s because co-hosts Nick Dinicola and GamerEdie Sellers offend Holy Goalie to the point he’s thinking of quitting the show.
It’s like watching the World Championship Staring Contest and the odds-on favorite blinks.
When they’re not skirting danger, the GameHounds staff asks, “When is a game finished.” And apparently they don’t agree.
What a surprise.
Also, you’ll get your weekly dose of The Rumor Mill.
Enjoy.

Edie, I highly recommend playing Skyrim on PC, assuming your PC can handle playing it at high detail levels. Between the high-res texture pack and everything in the Steam Workshop (which installs and manages the mods for you), it makes me wish I hadn’t already played and finished it (with all the Steam achievements) before all the extra content was released.

Edie, suppose I play Mass Effect 2 in a following way:
I recruit the absolute minimum of crew members. I do not do any loyalties. I do not activate Legion. I do not try to save the crew.
As a result, I get to the credits in record time. Human reaper is still defeated, but everyone, including Shepard, dies.
Do you still consider the game completed?

I would say your character finished the game at that point.
I guess there are different ways of “finishing” a game.
