7 Nov 2011It’s a well-known fact: If you don’t like that game you don’t like, it’s not the game. It’s you. You’re what’s wrong with country.
The zombies. The plague. Autism. The one percent… and you.
Because surely, it is not the game. The game is great. You just can’t understand it or handle it. Just ask Jeff Minter.
That’s the syndrome we tackle this week in the GameHounds podcast. Which game is it? Well, you’re just going to have to find out for yourself.
When we’re not “being haters,” GameEdie Sellers, Nick Dinicola, and Holy Goalie also cover the news, including:
And if you don’t like this podcast, you suck.
Enjoy.

2 Nov 2011Yeah, we are going to need a montage. But let’s face it, everything would be better with a montage.
I mean, think about it. Instead of going to work and slaving away for eight or nine hours, you could just play a montage. You wouldn’t need to slog off to class every day for four years to get that degree — just play a montage. And in two short minutes you could be on your couch with a beer in hand… or a neurosurgeon. Respectively, of course. Unless you already are a neurosurgeon, and then the first scenario works.
Well, you get the idea.
In this week’s episode, it’s a montage-o-palooza with Edie Sellers, Nick Dinicola, and Holy Goalie as they chat up the latest in games and gaming news, including:
Enjoy.

25 Oct 2011Look, in this world of Plants vs. Zombies, Alien vs. Predator, Red vs. Blue, Good vs. Activision… There’s a lot of “versus” going around.
So why not bring the versus a little closer to home, right?
This week, our three intrepid podcasters — Edie Sellers, Nick Dinicola, and Holy Goalie — chat about good vs. bad when it comes to the week’s releases. And they chat up the news.
So why not hold Ears vs. Mouth, and let ears win.
Enjoy.

10 Oct 2011Cough. Hack.
Yeah, this should be titled the Cold and Flu Season episode.
That’s what’s held up this podcast. GameHounds HQ has been crushed by illness, with everyone in the household dead on their feet and hacking up furballs.
Fortunately, you can’t get the flu over the internet, so GamerEdie didn’t spread the plague to co-hosts Nick Dinicola and Holy Goalie. Nor did she give it to special guest, Tim Wilsie of . You remember Tim. Former co-host? Deep voice? Brain the size of a planet and all they do is let him open and close doors? Yeah, that guy.
Tim visits us to talk about the return of and sticks around to talk about games, Netflix, and all the other stuff.
Also, listen to this episode and you could get a free copy of Issue 6 of GameFan.
Enjoy.

20 Sep 2011Yep, it’s that time of the year, my friends.
PAX Prime is behind us, and being that we had two of our writers there, we brought them both on the show. It’s a four-man squad of preview awesome, with GamerEdie Sellers, Holy Goalie, Nick Dinicola, and special guest Chris Salazar. And boy, do we have the red-hot previews for you.
What games, you ask? Well, lemme tell ya (and we’ll even give you time stamps, so you can pick and choose):
But that’s just the games. There’s a lot of other stuff. Funny stuff.
Enjoy.

13 Sep 2011Nothing gets Holy Goalie’s juices going like the 1980s.
I tried the demo for the original Toy Soldiers, and even though it was different and cute to be fighting with the small guys, it just didn’t do it for me. Perhaps it was the World War I setting, or maybe it was just missing something.
The second installment of Toy Soldiers takes place during the Cold War, hence the name Toy Soldiers: Cold War. The entire game has an 80s feel to it, as all around and inside the toy box that you are playing in are reminders of the decade that was the 80s: Rubik’s cubes, VCR tapes, and the like. You get the picture.

13 Sep 2011Gasp!
It’s a miracle!
The GameHounds staff finally put up a podcast.
Yes, we admit, this is pretty bad. We were out for almost a month. Between Burning Man and PAX, there was a lot going on, and we haven’t had a chance to sit down and chat. We miss our podcast buddies terribly.
In this episode, recorded before PAX, Nick Dinicola, Holy Goalie, and Edie Sellers chat up games and then take a departure from the news. They discuss a listener comment regarding spoliers. What makes a spoiler? When is it okay to reveal a spoiler? And does knowing a spoiler wreck a game?
Sorry for the delay. We now return you to your regular programming.
Enjoy.

5 Sep 2011How many urban legends and myths exist where you live? I remember the first time I heard about a girl that was killed in a narrow canyon only a few miles from my house, and supposedly her ghost haunted the road at night, hoping for someone to pick her up and drive her to safety. Legends and myths are intriguing because we wonder if some part of is true. Imagine taking all the world’s biggest conspiracies, lost ancient cities, and ageless factions, and put them into one massive online world. What kind of a game would you get?
Bringing you the latest in news, GameHounds delivers an adult perspective on the video game business and culture.
This podcast is explicit and is intended for adults ages 18 and older.
