GameHounds 264: Delay of Games

In: Podcasts by Edie Sellers

28 May 2014

The GameHounds staff of Nick Dinicola, Edie Sellers, and Holy Goalie once again join up to bring you updates in video-game news and reviews. The start of E3 is approaching quickly, and that means the pre-E3 info leaks are starting to trickle out. Topics include:

  • Reviews of Wolfenstein, Trials Fusion (Goalie’s take), NOT Watch Dogs (that’s next week), King Oddball, Stick It To the Man (Edie’s take), Sparkle 2 (Goalie’s take), Bound by Flame (Nick changes his opinion);
  • You may not want to enjoy Watch Dogs on the PC. It’s apparently flawed.
  • Battlefield 4 battlepacks are now available for purchase.
  • New Battlefield title, Battlefield Hardline, will be revealed at E3;
  • A lot of delays, including The Evil Within, The Order 1886, and the Steam machine;
  • Director Duncan Jones says filming of Warcraft movie is complete;
  • State of Decay DLC, Lifeline, due out May 30;
  • GameStop sees increased interest in the Xbox One since dis-Kinection.
  • New Star Wars Attack Squadron was cancelled;

Looks Like You Missed Us

In: Website by Edie Sellers

28 May 2014

Hey, remember me? Red hair? Big mouth?

Yes, we know we’ve been skating along by just having our most recent post available on the front page of the website and letting it auto-update. This changes today.

There’s a lot of good reasons for this happening. But the crisis is over, for the most part, and now we are in a time and place to be able to update this GameHounds RSS feed with individual updates.

If you’ve not been listening to the show, I’d like to welcome you back. We didn’t stop recording through the maelstorm that was my life since last August, but I did stop updating this page. There’s a lot of untied ends here (I *was* working on creating a new, improved site with forums and stuff), and those are also going to be picked up, dusted off, and started again.

If you’ve missed what happened in the GameHounds world because you missed our shows, I’ll go into the gruesome details after the jump. But if you’re just happy to have the RSS feed updated, know that this is starting again fresh and shiny.

Edie

Sometimes life gives you lemons…

This week, you’ll see the first show in a couple weeks. There’s been some life stuff getting in the way.

And by show we mean “partial” show. Due to technical difficulties at GameHounds HQ, we were only able to record reviews of Grand Theft Auto V Online, Charlie Murder, and I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream. Shortly after we begin the news, it all goes very wrong.

We took the news over to our Happy Endings show, so don’t be afraid to hit that up to get the rest of the show.

Where do you find it?

  • Method One: Go to iTunes and subscribe to our Happy Endings show HERE.’
  • Method Two: Go to 0ur Spreaker page and download it directly by visiting HERE (you’ll need to subscribe to Spreaker. It’s free. They don’t spam you, either).
  • Method Three: Listen via YouTube by going HERE.
  • Method Four: Listen on this page.

Enjoy.

GameHounds 233: Goalie Got a New Toy

In: Podcasts|Reviews by Edie Sellers

23 Sep 2013

The thing about gamers, they like their toys.

And gamers who are also podcasters really, really like their toys.

Holy Goalie got a new, fancy box and puts it to good use. He and co-hosts Edie Sellers and two versions of Nick Dinicola, the GameHounds gang is joined by Zinyak from Saints Row IV. Sort of.

The show had some techincal difficulties, so the news had to be rolled over to the Happy Endings show. You are subscribed to Happy Endings, right? Right?!?

No? Well, then check out the Happy Endings iTunes page and subscribe yourself, slacker.

We do manage to review a host of games on this week’s regular GameHounds show, including:

  • Edie’s impressions of Saints Row IV;
  • Nick’s thoughts on Grand Theft Auto V;
  • Goalie’s (surprisingly not-horrible) review of Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Enjoy.

Finally! We’re back.

Technically, we were always over on Spreaker, but now our regular recorded show is back.

Who isn’t back is Nick, who had to take the week off. Instead, Holy Goalie and Edie Sellers are joined by Mrs. Lefty Brown of the Married Gamers. And things get raunchy.

Let’s just say you get a porta-pottie education you probably didn’t need.

When not discussing the most disgusting guerilla porn, the team discusses:

Nick will be back next week. Don’t worry.

Enjoy.
