Review: Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands

In: Reviews by Nick "Alsop Live" Dinicola

28 Jul 2010

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is a fun game. It’s just the right length, never repeating itself or needlessly dragging out some section of gameplay, and it represents a whole new genre unto itself: An action-puzzle-rhythm-platformer. It’s also not worth $60.

First Thoughts: Puzzle Quest 2

In: Reviews by Dave "Holy Goalie" Gardner

19 Jul 2010

On June 30, Infinite Interactive released Puzzle Quest 2, a follow up to the highly addictive Puzzle Quest on the Xbox Live Arcade.
Coming in at a hefty 1,200 Microsoft Points, or $15, PQ2 plays very similar to PQ, but with a couple of small changes. Like PQ, you point to where you want your character [...]

Last Look: Red Dead Redemption

In: Reviews by Dave "Holy Goalie" Gardner

19 Jul 2010

There aren’t many perfect video games. Okay, there really is no such animal, but sometimes a game gets as close to perfect as possible. It’s ironic that Red Dead Redemption was one of the only games I did not stand in line to see at PAX East, and it turns out to be the best [...]

Review: Angry Birds

In: Reviews by Dave "Holy Goalie" Gardner

These aren’t the Birds you’re looking for…
You remember the story of the Big Bad Wolf and how he huffed and puffed to get those innocent little piggies? Well not all pigs are good. Some pigs will even go so far as to steal the eggs of birds, and that made the birds very angry.

In: Reviews by Nick "Alsop Live" Dinicola

15 Jul 2010

If Bad Company 2 and Modern Warfare 2 had a baby, it would be Medal of Honor.
Comparisons like this are inevitable for several reasons: First, Medal of Honor was a WWII shooter that jumped into the modern world, just like Call of Duty. Second, the developer of Bad Company 2 is working on the multiplayer [...]

In: Reviews by Nicholas "Heartbreak Ridge" Sylvain

15 Jul 2010

We are living in an experimental downloadable content world, where developers are testing the DLC waters as they continue to figure out content, timing, and pricing. One issue developers are confronting is the paradox of post-launch DLC; For a large RPG like Dragon Age: Origins (or Mass Effect 2, and Fallout 3 not too long [...]

Review: Ion Drum Rocker Premium Drum Kit

In: Reviews by Edie Sellers

16 Oct 2008

It doesn’t happen often, but sometimes a listener takes the time to write up a review, said review is actually quite good, and it hits our inbox at just the right moment when we actually have time to post it. That “perfect storm” hit this week, as listener Major Malfunction offers up his impressions of [...]

In: Podcasts by Edie Sellers

16 Jul 2008

We hit the midway point for E3 2008 today. Being the first day without a major press conferece, Wednesday is all about hitting the games.
And there are so many games here it’s impossible to do one small woman (or a large one for that matter) to hit them all. Today, Edie did her best, however.
Hawkes [...]
